What's on your workbench today? Share some pics!

I thought it would be fun to see what everyone is currently working on. Now that winter has set in here in Michigan I've had a little more time to spend in the shop. I'm currently working on my R&M tank. So far I've rewound the stator and speed coil, restored the switch and blasted the cast iron and pressed out the old bearings.

Today's task is to finish grinding the iron and start some bodywork.

Feel free to add some pics of your current project.

I have several projects going at the same time in my shop, but the place is NO where near as neat and organized as the OP’s  😉   In the next few weeks, I hope to complete a reboot of an Emerson hassock fan using wood, brass, and artistic license.

With only one partial project going see my workbench below.

I could say I admire you, envy you, or hate you for having such a clean workbench !   I’m considered pretty darn “AR”….but.damn!   You beat the heck out of me!  <grinning>

Don’t have all the parts from this donor fan and am still deciding whether to spend more cash on a resto, or just put the parts lot up for sale. F731600B-A554-40C4-846F-50FCFD5E46F6.thumb.jpeg.0b97ab341e2952e8e00b7f4f597ffd99.jpeg962DFC9F-1164-4329-A43C-F4F20AB6FD01.thumb.jpeg.ca20af4ebb325be66b8cda5e4e783f1f.jpeg

Not gonna lie, I DID clean up a bit before I took the picture! My actual work bench where the messy stuff happens is on wheels, I can move it away from the clean bench and make a mess on the other side of the shop!

Sadly, my workbench has too much junk on it to work on it at the moment.  However, I do have two projects currently in progress.  One is a 1950s four-bulb, four foot fluorescent theater light.  The other is an unusual 12" GE two star DC I bought years ago.  The fan might be left as it is as it appears to have been converted to AC many decades ago.

Typical Monday....getting some Marelli motors working for a special project, test running a Simplex vane table. It's #2 of 18. #3-5 are in paint. 6 & 7 will be machined this weekend. Some cakes and kidneys awaiting pieces and parts. A  C-W armature needing some commutator work.....

After viewing the responses here I’m bound by common decency to make available to all a valuable resource.

Namely 1-316-133-4287 (1-FanAddicts).   They provide help and counseling.

That said……anyone know where I can pick up a pancake project fan at a reasonable price ???  Maybe one with all the parts but needs work?

(yes, I’m dialing the number now……)
