Translucent Westy

Picked this up over the summer. I have a soft spot for these later westy's. I like the way Westinghouse kept updating the design based on the original power-aire, just with current materials.

Anyway I thought it would be a quick turnaround then found out the oscillator shaft in the motor housing was wallowed out. How that happened is beyond me, the fan weighs about 3 pounds and there's just not a lot of pull on it. I ended up drilling it round and putting a liner in. There was not a lot of material to work with so I used a thin steel piece I had on hand. Blade had a deep scratch I took out with some fine sandpaper and novus polish.

It works pretty well now. 2 speeds. I'll use it in the office this coming summer. It's all original finish down to the cord. Not perfect but perfectly original.
