I posted this before, but what the heck.

When the movie “Bridges of Madison County” was filmed in central Iowa, they came to see AFCA member Dave Meshek.  Dave’s business was antique lighting, and the movie people bought (not rent) all the antique lighting you see in that movie.  I was at the antique mall when they were picking out the lightning.  It was a hot and sweaty movie and I asked if they needed a fan.  They passed on my offer.   There have been several movies in Iowa, one time they rented a microscope I had for sale in my showcase.  I don’t remember the movie, but I do remember I got $90.  I found out about the rental when I got my check.

Bridges trivia:   Clint Eastwood was seen all over central Iowa during filming and mixed it up with the public all the time.  Regular guy.  I was told, Meryl Streep never left her trailer.

Original Top Gun movie.   Air control tower….remember the fly by and spilled coffee ?

Was told they were Emerson fans, but too dark for me to tell.

Hunter (Left) , Emerson (Right)

There was a pedestal Emerson in "Who framed Rodger Rabbit".

There are many fans seen in "Murder She Wrote"

One movie even had a rare JC Penny pedestal fan... But I forgot the title. 😵

Watching movies, series, etc

is always good to train the eyes to spot fans in the wild. 😎

The best fan scene I've seen was in "sam whiskey." Full 2-3 minute scene with a hot air fan running. If remember they even show the room through the blades.

Sanford and son had an Emerson by the phone that has 3 feet.   I couldn't get a descent picture of it.

The Show Big Bang Theory that was on CBS for about 14 seasons had a 1930s Freshn'd Aire Pedestal Fan in the Laundry Room of the Apartment building that the show took place in.

At the end of winter break, my 12 yr old wanted to watch Saving Private Ryan, but we couldn't find it streaming.  We started on Band of Brothers instead.

In episode 5, "Crossroads", I saw this BB/BC...

Two scenes from the first Addams Family movie from the early 90's

first pic there appears to be an emerson on the floor, and in the second is the attorneys office scene a nice Westy 16PAP in the corner

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.  Looks like they moved the loophandle around to different scenes.  The poor GE pedestal is still running like that.

There is a large theater group in Houston who did a production of 12 Angry Men a number of years ago. They contacted me about renting a fan, I told them they could just use it & return it when done. They chose a 16” Hunter. Several folks I know said hey we saw 12 Angry Men & they had a fan like some of yours. Really? “Yes!” It was my fan.

I love this thread. My wife and daughter are always spotting fans in movies for me. And by the way, "the Enemy Below" with Robert Mitchum is an excellent war movie. The movie Greyhound with Tom Hanks is as good. You should watch it if you haven't seen it.
