River replacement on fan blades

River replacement seemed the only choice for me as I wanted to properly clean and polish my brass Parker fan blades. The hub also needed to be restored. I drilled the rivets out after finding a very good modern match of rivet. My hubs fan blade holes are .130 so an 1/8 inch diameter rivet would suffice for replacement. Head radius and diameter are important for tensile strength as well as ascetics try and find something comparable. The length was calculated as well. The length on this particular 29646 Emerson Parker fan blade and hub combination is .1875. The solid portion of your rivet(shank) should be an 1/8 of an inch. The hollow portion of your rivet would be what’s called the (tail). The (tail)should be about 1/3 more than the length of the working dimension of your rivet(shank). This will make a good secure tail.
