1897 Bates Ceiling Fans

I think this post should go under the "Ceiling Fans" forum, but nevertheless, nice images! I know of some Bates fans. But none have that revolving lower canopy fixture above the blade brackets. That 1897 model would have an unusually long armature shaft on the lower end. I'm don't know why (other than for cosmetic reasons) Bates made it that way. Doesn't appear functionally necessary, though the lower crown canopy adds bling and height! The AC model hasn't been located yet that I know about. Revolving lights...hahaha!

Both Bates. One with could be found in an old soda fountain image. The other was a brass blade Fresh'nd-aire with a 20" blade.
