Is anybody making fiber insulator washers for male and female Westy Tank Centrifugal Switches?

As the title says, is anybody currently making these? I know Darrel Koller is making them for early Emersons, but what about the Westys? I know Darryl Hudson used to make them, but until he’s feeling better, I don’t want to bother him.

thanks,

Lane

Let me look into the thickness and shape. I will post back.

Meanwhile, you may want to reach out to Seth Anderson, he makes custom laser and 3D parts.

John Fengel wrote:  You can purchase large Fiber Washers from http://www.McMaster.com. You'll need 2 Fiber Washers to duplicate the thickness of the original. Glue two of them together with some JB Weld. Transfer the hole positions from the Centrifugal Switch to the Fiber Washers and drill holes the same size or slightly larger than the screws that attach it to the Rotor. The original switch was attached to the Fiber Washer using rivets but I just used JB Weld. One very important thing to remember is you do NOT want any metal to metal contact between the Centrifugal Switch and the Rotor. This will result in a direct short.
Hope this helps.

Russ, do you happen to know the McMaster number?  I wouldn’t mind having some of those in stock.

Friends:  I'm doing a little work on a beautiful Westy tank that I purchased from another member. I was cleaning the rotor and the centrifugal start when I noticed that the insulating ring behind it was in pretty poor shape. Where might I obtain one of these? Which of our fine AFCA members might have this part? Thank you kindly for your assistance! Chad Baker has them on his website page but he is out of stock, unfortunately

Thank you all, there’s a member looking into making them. I may try the fiber washers if that doesn’t pan out.
