Help needed with Diehl 16512

Does anyone have advice on how to remove the back of this Deihl 16512. Previous owner caused all the chips on the round part of the back. Do I need to remove the stator first? Any suggestions on how to remove the back or the stator would be appreciated.

It’s quite possible the pot metal has swelled slightly.  If you’ve removed all the fasteners, there’s a likelihood it’ll break if you remove it.  Unless you must remove it I’d fill the holes with JB Weld, and paint it.
