Kim Frank
Louis, I'll take two each of the CGE and BTH badges, and one of the EUG badges when they're done. Good stuff! Not familiar with a GE logo for 1892. It's my understanding that GE didn't use a logo until mid 1899. Prior to that, I believe they just spelled out the company name. That is a very beautiful picture of a GE badge. The pile of GE fans screams...USA. That is a real parade. Steve Rockwell
Kim, Did the larger-size Pancakes of that period, let's say 1899 & 1900, have a larger (2 3/4") badge ? I was looking at a later drawing, and that image made me wonder about the 1902 badge (with its margin outside the customary monogram), and whether those badges didn't measure 2 3/4"... but this image suggests 2 3/4" was used earlier. Can you clarify, please?..
Kim Frank
Starting with the 1899 16 inch bracket fan, the cage badge is 2-3/4 inch. The 16" desk fan is introduced in 1900. That size badge continues thru the second variant of 1903 16" desk and bracket fans. That badge is the 2-1/4" GE logo with a 1/4" ring around it. The 12" and 14" fans use the 2-1/4" badge. Pictured is the 1900 16 inch, the 12 inch desk, and the 1899 bracket motor and cage.

I was debating about putting the curvature last night on top of the letter T but could not quite make it out. Your picture does confirm a curvature on top. Just need to put on the dimples. Just finishing up on my magic unicorn project. Should be closing out the project by Sunday. I will start on the CGE badges next week. That should be relatively easy compare to the fish. The CGE is a clip on correct? Do you have some pictures of the clip on part?
Kim Frank
The CGE badge clips on over the 1904 and later cage GE badges. On 1903, 1902 and 1901 it has a threaded post on the back and is attached by washer and nut. 1900 and 1899 it has a strap soldered to back of badge and is attached by that to the cage. I would venture that is the same for the BTH and EUG, although I've never seen a EUG in person, and the BTH on 1903 and earlier fans.
