Jim Roadt
I have a 16" and 12" eck DC sidewinder oscillator. The 12" oiler was packed with grease no wick just this brass stick. The 16" was packed with cotton or something. Neither is correct I assume. What should it be.
Louis Luu
Both should be stick.

Anthony Lindsey
Supposedly vaseline was used in a lot of fans. I've seen it on the original instructions on numerous fans.
Bill Dunlap
Vaseline is the only pure petrochemical grease as far as I know. All other greases are mixtures of oil and some type of thickener, like lithium soap. So, I would guess that it won't separate like ordinary greases do. However, I use synthetic grease the silicone type, that cannot separate and has a property which causes it to cling to metal instead of run off like petroleum oils do. Great for fans that get only occasional use. They also double as good dielectric grease for electrical connections.
