Russ Huber Posted April 4, 2023 Author Posted April 4, 2023 (edited) Edward Johnson's claim for experimenting with blades on shafts of Edison motors was supported by his business partner Sigmund Bergmann (Bergmann & Company) as early as 1882. If you read the 94 article below, Wheeler despite claiming he was the first to implement a fan blade on a motor, couldn't even provide a date as to when in 94. Lol. Blades were being placed on electric motors prior to Johnson's 82 supported claim. Edited April 4, 2023 by Russ Huber Quote
Russ Huber Posted April 4, 2023 Author Posted April 4, 2023 Common sense to me is the potential of an efficient electric fan motor prior to 1880 would depend a great deal on the quality of the batteries in use at the time of the motor's development. Quote
Russ Huber Posted April 4, 2023 Author Posted April 4, 2023 I would be so bold to speculate that a number of the small fan motors in the 1880s could be found in dental offices. Quote

As a matter of fact, that patent has been as far as anyone has seen the 1854 Stein apartment fan to the best of my knowledge. Quote
Chad Shapiro Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Actually the first reference that has been found as of yet to an electric fan that was actually priced goes to the Union Electro Motor Co. Union sold motors with fan blades as early as 1874, as patented by W. Scott Sims. 1 Quote

Is there some reason you wish to omit the existence of this document and surviving examples (there are two now known, including one that is 100% designed as a Union desk fan)? Quote

Go easy, dude. I was just simply pointing out Stefan posted that one in distant past. When I posted Deprez, It was not based on a contest for who came first. After all, Wheeler got the award for that one. 🙂 Fact Jack. Quote
