That's nice!
But only for the earliest 6-pole Edisons. How many out there, I wonder?  🤔

Not quite sure about that.  I have seen them on 4 blade Edisons.

I meant the rotor windings; they don't belong on the later fans with 12-pole rotors. I suspect that a late production 6-pole Edison *may* have been shipped with a 4-wing blade, but I have NOT seen evidence of that as yet that I remember. (Here's where theEXPERTS step in!  😉)

From memory the heavy cast tag stopped in 1895. Or was that '98. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Actually, I meant to ask originally - I heard that these were recast at some time in the past. Does anyone know that for certain? I have seen an example that looks different from most of them, but it was possible just sanded or worn down excessively. But the casting also shows a difference or 'break in mold...
I'll see if I can get pictures up later if that helps answer this...

Quite specifically, the 'slightly odd' cast tag is on a first year 6-pole, which has the SPRING-LOADED brushes. This tag is also affixed 180º from later 6-pole motors! I posted about this in the past asking those who know to answer, but. . . crickets. 🤷🏼‍♀️
