Tim Babcock Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 I bought some Poly Tube that is solid poly. Its hard but soft enough it grabs the surface where the fan sets. The poly tube comes in about 20 inch length. I first tried to cut it with a razor knife. Too hard to do. I then tried my chop box, Too much head and it melts. then I tried a saw. Small miter hand saw. Still too hard to control. I ended up using my PVC pipe cutter that is a ratchet razor cutter. Worked out well. A bit of learning curve but after a few cuts it worked well. then I drilled a hole in the center on slow speed so not to melt the poly. Used the same steel washers that came off the fan and a pop rivet. works good. 3 Quote
Lane Shirey Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 (edited) Next time try freezing the piece before cutting with a saw. Works like a charm with rubber. would you mind sharing a link to the tubing? That’s a great idea. Edited May 22, 2024 by Lane Shirey Quote
Tim Babcock Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 I got it off of eBay. Came form China which is a bummer but I could not find it made in the USA. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266399273481?var=566213178714 Quote
