Not sure if anyone has done this but I have not seen a fan painted this way.

I decided to try some iridescent paint. Its a bit tricky to use as when you are painting it seems like you are not getting any coverage. Easy to over use. So several thin coats are best. It looks from one angle like there is bare steel, but turn it and it looks either a redish or green. Its just different. I am going to be messing around on several fans with different types. The fan blades will also look good painted with this. I used the Iridescent paint rattle can, but did not use a base coat of black. This gives it a deeper look. I bought a can of the blue red iridescent paint and used the black base coat. Will post the fan when its being painted. I am doing this to a hunter 1920s AOU and a GE strap fan.
