Evan Atkinson Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 What year Arctic Aire do we think this is? Picked it up cheap locally yesterday, as I enjoy the appearance of the cast-hub AAs. I immediately noticed that the blade is the 18” “Falcon” blade (like the ‘37 pedestal I have), which I have not seen on a desk model before. People I got it from said it came from a factory that their dad worked in. Based on the level of grease and grime, I’d agree. Came without the back bullet but I found a spare that fits like a glove. Maybe I have a spare oscillating knob somewhere. Thoughts anyone? @Stan Adams Quote
Stan Adams Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 If you give me the model number, I can tell you the year. That model is pretty scarce in the desk model. I think Doc has Jim Lindsey's & I have only seen one other. 1 Quote

Try as I might, there’s nothing to see there. I’ve oiled it, polished it, examined it under magnification. Nada! Edited June 18, 2024 by Evan Atkinson 1 Quote

Evan Atkinson Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 The blades and hub don’t match the ads. I’m thinking slightly earlier. Quote
Steve Rockwell Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 I know that 3-wires by three-wires guard was produced through the late forties, into the fifties I believe... for whatever any of that is worth... 1 Quote

Evan Atkinson Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) That last example is fun for the badge alone 😁👏🏻👍🏻. These are nice fans. They just need to run slower to be quieter. Leave High alone, but low should be LOW, and Medium should be a nice in-between. My common complaint with most old fans. Edited July 12, 2024 by Evan Atkinson Quote
Evan Atkinson Posted August 21, 2024 Author Posted August 21, 2024 Following up on this, I’m planning to repaint it. Has anyone identified a correct modern replacement for the original AA dark forest green? Quote
