Hello folks, it's almost that time of the year again.  Leaves falling and the smell of pumpkin pie and apples.  Not quite ready for that yet?

Well, how about the breeze of antique fans blowing.  It's about a month until the Fall Regional Fan Meet in York, PA September 13 (Get together for early arrivals) and Sept 14th (THE MEET)

PLEASE REGISTER if you plan to attend.  It's very important to be able to plan for food and other logistics.  

The meet is on Saturday at a beautiful park pavilion in Hallam, PA, near York.  It is open to the public, so anyone may attend- guests and members alike.  

On Friday afternoon, 2 to 6pm, we will host a get-together with light refreshments at our home. This event is reserved for AFCA members.  Attendees to the Friday event will have an advance opportunity to purchase fans from my collection that will not be making it to the meet.  I won't have extra table space here, so please plan to set up fans that you're bringing on Saturday.  

Please make sure to check the hours of both events.  Jeanie and I will be working all Friday morning and early afternoon cooking food and preparing for the meet, so we won't be able to entertain guests until mid afternoon.  

On Saturday, the park is locked at dusk. so we must be cleaned up and out of there by then. Plan to arrive at the meet between the hours of 9 to 5. 

There's lots of other things to do in the area both for fan fanatics and civilians, so consider making a weekend of it!

Also, we’ve decided to cancel the Friday get together since there wasn’t very much interest. The Saturday meet will carry on as planned.

If enough people bring fans to contribute, we will have an Auction at 1:00 to help offset the costs of the meet.  As you all know, the costs of food and rental have skyrocketed so we greatly appreciate any and all contributions!

 
Some might not be aware that these regional meets are paid for completely by the hosts and the donations that come in.  The auction is one way to contribute. 
 

I know of 2 people so far that have said they’d like to contribute fans, and we always have some that we’d rather not take back home with us. so, try to sell them in the morning, and if they don’t sell, you can donate them toward the meet cost.

A few notes for those of you who are coming to the meet on Saturday. 
 

First of all, Jeanie and I are looking forward to seeing all of our Fan Friends! 
When you enter the park, there will be a fork in the road. We are in the pavilion to the LEFT! 

Also, to unload, I intend to have a few spaces marked and reserved for unloading. Even though none of the parking is very far from the pavilion.  Please feel free to use these reserved spaces, but kindly move your car before starting to socialize, so that others can also have the convenience of easy unloading. 
 

Please note that the hours are 9 to 5.  Please don’t show up before 9. I am only able to access the pavilion when they unlock it, and I need a few moments to get things set up. Also, we will need to wind things down around 5, to allow cleanup time before the park is locked for the evening. Thanks for understanding. 
 

There will be an auction around 1:00 to benefit and help offset the costs of the auction. I welcome you to bring any fans that you’d like to part with, or don’t want to take back home with you.  There will also be a donation jar if you’d rather make monetary contributions. Anything you can give will be a huge help. It’s getting very expensive to hold these events. These regional events are not paid for by the AFCA. 
 

The weather is going to be perfect fan weather! Sunshine and the low to mid 80’s. Low humidity.   If you’re still on the fence, let us know you’re coming and hop in the car!

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAD A GREAT WEATHER DAY TOO! IF I HADNT BEEN WORKING I WOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE FAMILY SHOWER FOR CHRISTINA AND TONY AND MY NEXT DAY GRANDCHILD (THE FIRST GIRL! DUE 12/23) SO NO WAY I WAS HAVING A PLAY-DAY WITH FANS! THE PICTURES LOOK GREAT!
