Picked this nice running little all brass biskit today at a store I was just at 3 days ago! I didn't want to go in as I was already there a few days ago... Just goes to show you, ya never know! As the great Yoda once said... "A bargain have we here!"

Electrical Record shows Crocker Wheeler fan motor offerings (9" models only) 1916-18 optional.  3 speeds and variable.

There would be 4 models to complete the C-W all brass collection. The 3-speed lever switch in either alternating or direct current, or the same for the top of motor speed regulation. Electrical Record does not list the models in different finishes. This may not be gospel. 🙂

Nice example, George.  Crocker Wheeler introduced a new line of 9", 12", and 16" models in 1912 electrical trade. However, after doing some digging around, it appears their advertising in 1912 electrical trade is creating a reasonable element of doubt about the construction of their 9" model. Two advertisements so far are supportive of slide lever speed selection drawn brass frame model.

Bingo. My bad. The 9" C-W all brass with 3 speed base slide lever was introduced to the market in 1912. Crocker Wheeler all brass fans were on the market it appears 1912- 18. The top speed regulating switch model was introduced in 1915.

So... I have a 1912 model? With variable speed slide switch?

Your model with what should be a 3-speed switch lever in the base was introduced in 12. It could have been manufactured between 1912-18.  The variable speed model (speed adjustment knob on top of motor) was introduced in 1915. There is electrical trade evidence to support both models shared the market 1915-18.
