I watched this video and you did a great job shooting this and posting it on you tube and on our forum.   I hope your video ignites a spark in the general population to take an interest in antique fan restoration and collecting.   Really well done.

Hi Larry,

Great video, I'm working on an old 77646 and it has the same switch and wiring as you have on this video, on the head wire did you just hook up the three wires from the motor in any configuration to start and then move them around until it worked properly? Do I need to worry about burning anything up? I'm a beginner here, s hope you're not laughing too hard. Appreciate any insight.

Yeah, that is what I generally do.  I make a sketch and since the wires are different colors I move them around until I get the right combo.  Key is just apply power long enough to see if it works right.  I use a killawatt to make sure it runs to spec.  Sometimes there is a combo that will run the right direction, but will pull too many watts...  That is my way.  Others can tell which wires go where by taking ohm readings, but I haven't nailed that down yet...
