Russ Huber Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 (edited) Not rocket science. The motor was stuck firm in the aluminum collar. A friend of mine and I on each side of the motor in collar with propane torches heated the aluminum collar. He with the use of heavy gloves braced the collar and I used a section of 2x4 against the motor housing and hammered it free from the collar. Guard wires were missing on the motor mount section so my friend cut and shaped correct gauge steel wires and Mig welded them in place. Getting all the original base rubber feet screws out required a propane torch with lots of heat and a pair of vice grips to slowly work them free and out. Factory base feet threading is 1/4 - 20. Steel threaded into aluminum over a number of years can be super stubborn to remove with risk of snapping off the bolt or screw. Lots of heat. Edited October 2, 2024 by Russ Huber 1 Quote
