Friends:  I finished the R & M list 1801, after getting a call from Ron Bethoney of New England Brass Refinishing. His work is as you see below - FLAWLESS!

This fan runs so quietly, I can barely hear it, even with my ear no more than inches away. It's a lovely fan.

I was dreading putting the stator back into the case. I had used very fine sandpaper (600) to smooth out the outside of the stator and the inside of the case, then I waxed it with Maguires wax. The stator slid right into the case without any effort.

A funny thing (funny as in odd coincidence). Someone was selling a few fans on a website that I frequent. One of the three fans he listed was an R & M list 1801 though not nearly in as good a shape as this fan was. I made him an offer which he is considering.

PS:  Ron Bethoney is getting a new knee tomorrow at nine am so prayers are appreciated.

Great news for Ron!! An 1801 would be a fan I would like to acquire someday!!
