Todd Adornato
In the 1976 movie about the Battle of Midway in 1942, there’s a pedestal fan in the background early on in the movie. I haven’t seen one like it before - what is it?

Todd Adornato
Thanks! That’s one pricey fan. Wonder what happened to the one in the movie, which has a different post. Edited September 7 by Todd Adornato

John Landstrom
It would be difficult at best to find out what happened to that fan. Whomever the prop master was on the film is usually in charge of finding items for the sets used in filming. What they look for depends on what they have in storage or what they can find to rent/borrow/buy depending on the budget and how authentic the producers want to be. The 60’s and 70’s were notorious for just using something they had on hand. The prop folks also made/make what they can to make a piece “look” authentic. The pole/stand may be something they just had laying around. Of course you could always do your research and find the name/info of the prop folks and try contacting them if any are still around. Good luck with that.
Russ Huber
The model was known as the Deluxe Prince. The Prince had a 16" blade with the unique guard with Signal motor and Deco aluminum housing. The model at the top is new to my eyes, but be careful, as Geoff Dunaway would say, never say never.
