Robert Todd Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I had a (rare) good day at the flea market Friday. I found 3 salvageable fans. A 9" red badge Emerson Junior Oscillator, a 12" GE continuous oscillator and a Century S3-16. All of them seem to run although the GE just barely moves. I am hoping it is nothing more than decades of gummed up oil in the bearings. I haven't had this productive a day in years. 3 Quote
Steve Butler Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 A good day indeed. You don’t see those continuous oscillators pop up very often. 👍 Quote
Robert Todd Posted October 1, 2023 Author Posted October 1, 2023 Only one I have seen in all these years at flea markets. I guess I need to do something about that hideous green paint job. Quote

Todd Adornato Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) What’s a “continuous oscillator”? I have several GE fans with the loop around the housing and an oscillator mechanism, but I’m not familiar with that term. Nice flea market find! Edited October 1, 2023 by Todd Adornato Quote
Steve Butler Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Also called a round back because of the gear box shape. The link screws on to make it oscillate continuously instead of having a place to tighten and engage the oscillator on top. The next model after that one has the same shape gearbox with an early star engagement. 2 Quote
