Trevor Andersen
I made a crude tool today that works great on 12 inch quiet blade bearings and smaller. I don't have any bigger GEs to see if it fits them. I got this upholstery tool for 3 bucks on clearance at a Menards because it had damaged packaging. Its normally $4.99! Don't let that discourage you. I ground the inside surfaces near the tip with a dremel so it would fit around the bearing to sit in the notches. It's simple and cheap. Someone asked about a way to remove them the other day here or in the Facebook group and thought I should document it so people can make their own in the future if they want. I've tried small bike spanners etc but they either are too straight to get good torque or the handle is too curved and short to clear the stator coils.
