        I dunno...

It took most of my workday yesterday to recall the name Hochhausen, but then when I was able to follow through on it with computer, that led nowhere...

It took me a long time last night to catch up to where you guys were ten years ago. After searching for fans similar to the main image, I finally identified only the Ries fan base at the top, but before posting a snarky reply to that effect, I backtracked in the Old Forum searching Ries and found what had previously been posted...  A direct "C. & S." search had provided me with nothing, can't explain it...

I'm scrutinizing Chicago Electric Motor Company, which seems to have fallen off the map by 1895...

Perhaps its patentee and one of its founders, Barron D. Southard, is the "S", and we're seeing an effort to come out with an 1895 version, perhaps it's a new venture... Speculation...

Particularly, the armatures appear similar (I'm looking at the 1892 view, wish 1893 depicted the rear view as well)...  The four-wing blade versus 6-wing, no opinion.

The Southard patent date is 17 Nov 1891.  The Chicago fan displays 8 Nov 1902, a date on which a number of Thomson-Houston patents were listed...

I think I've misunderstood this part,  "You have a clue who marketed it for the manufacturer.", believing it's as stated a C. & S. Fan, and that Metropolitan is the marketer... Where have I fouled up?

Snediker & Carr made motors   This is the closest I have found.. but obviously that would be S&C..maybe the guy making the catalog was dyslexic..
