...process...

...Remember, safely first (x-acto). šŸ˜µšŸ¤”

...Just have to make 3 or 4 more of these and I'll be able to complete

a mini Westinghouse.

...'Till then.

...Note the inner diameter... šŸ¤”šŸ™

Good thing I caught it before developing another 3 to 4 rings-!

My tester blades... I have many pre-made for sizing purposes...

The silver bladeĀ ISĀ  actually larger in diameter than the blue... (PICS).

...Basically the ring went from barely able to fit a Penny size blade (blue) toĀ

now fitting the larger diameter Silver blade.Ā

WOW.. YOUR SKILL WITH MINIATURES IS AMAZING. I WOULD BE GOING BLIND BY NOW !Ā

Ā

Thank-you,

...Mini fans are my passion... At least, when I have some time to build them.

...

...My full-size fan collection may become a Free Giveaway someday... šŸ¤”

...Seriously thinking about it as I can put 100+ mini fans in the space a regular

12" desk fan takes... šŸ˜µšŸ˜² ...

Perfect example:Ā

Just one of my -many- idle full-size blade sets...

It did not blow much air before... (More noise than air).

PICS: (taped together for reference of shape before)

I am now entering aĀ new phaseĀ of how I collect fans...

Building fans is much more fun, a challenge at times, but fun. šŸ˜Ž

...I choose to either improve existing blades or make my own from scratch.

Here's this ones "After", an example of existing blade improvement. šŸ‘

PICS: runs well off a DC motor, no plug necessary-!

Given:

Plastic WASTE materials... Been sitting in the sun... They are ripe for blade making

(I think they were sandwich containers once..?..)

PICS: show source materials & blade under development.

This bladeĀ seemsĀ like just another GE... But is it..?Ā Ā šŸ¤”

...Reverse (CCW) vortalex?

...National's 'impossible' to find "Panasonic" variation?

Yep!Ā  Adding more & more to my mini fan style/ types.

Also testing different materials/ methods in which to build...

(Aluminum, plastic, recycle plastic).

  • 1 month later...

...(From a used Frisbee Toy)

...Cut to size, hollowed out & put on a 2mm central hub w/stopper

to create an easily removable blade.

Put the blade back on with equal ease,

the stopper I installed ensures a balance fit with minimal effort.

(Stopper is made of transparent light cured glue)

Runs VERY smoothly at 3V-9V.

I will call it:

The HOLMES AIR TropiCoolerĀ Ā šŸ¤”šŸ’”

(For Deluxe series mini box fan/ mini Room air circulator)

...I am testing the idea of a 'Performance'

1980's version of the "Emerlex" (GEMERSON) blade...

..Just gotta find some good, preferably transparent colorful plastic for mini scale... šŸ¤”

...To be made in a variety of vibrant color.

...Yep.

Why didn't I think of it before?

Disc cases such as this old game I don't use

offer aĀ varietyĀ of colors and can withstand my heat treatment method. šŸ˜Ž

Here's the blade:

(See it compared to theĀ TropiCoolerĀ blade)

The color is a sort of neon green.

One of my smoothest running blades.

Really moves the air.

Shown powered at 9 volts.

I aim to bring beautiful Colorful blade fans back from extinction-!

No waiting for fan companies,Ā

they had their chance and sadly gave up quality decades ago...

..I'm building my own fans, then I shall share them.

Vortaluxe GEN 1 and GEN 2 (Ver. 3) Blades.

Nearly finished, just needed final sanding/ polish and final balance.

PICS:

Still deciding if I should equip to a pedestal type or desk type...

Iā€™ve been following this thread for a while and I have to say Iā€™m throughly impressed with how passionate you are about these keep it up! Also have you at all considered trying to upscale these into bigger fans?
