Appeared in Vietnam.
The seller said that it is 100% original.
Some say it's a Frankenfan, made of Diehl sewing machine parts, and a 50's fan.
I want to know what people think?

Do not believe this complete assembly will be found in any Diego catalog. Parts of it might be though.

I think the blade cage pulley struts and shaft housing are right and correct. They did make a belt operated fan but not sure it was ever foot operated, I thought motored. That's the part that may be home made.

We have something similar to that in the museum. I'll get pics next week.

A "righty" and a "lefty."

Hi, Dan..

What first caught my eye
was the beautiful ornate
cast iron.     Love it!  Thumbup.gif.517c2182b048329336eb4affdbf4400e.gif

Then,...   upon closer
inspection of the pictures,
I noticed the die cast
aluminum pulley.

The ejector pin marks,
which I circled, are tell-tale
signs of die castings.

Ornate cast iron, machined
and knurled oilers, brass
riveted blades, and wrapped
brass wire cages all are labor
intensive and expensive,...
in comparison to a die cast
aluminum pulley.

Incongruity?, IDK.

Dan,  despite the wrong blade, a lame reproduction badge, and a dental push pedal and lay on the floor handle on the wheel to spin the blade drive, etc.....the deceiver did a beautiful job. 🙂

Thank you very much!
I have received a lot of useful information from your comments!
After posting this post, there have been at least 3 machine tripods made in cast iron and brass was advertised for sale here in Vietnam at a rather high price.
It seems that many people in Vietnam interest with this pedal fan model.
