John McComas
As Cunningham calls them: "A RARE BIRD" They don't show up very often. I had one. Mine worked great until a capacitor exploded in the base, (and I mean EXPLODED) I replaced the capacitor, but never got it to stop as fast as originally. Thought someone might be interested... Not mine. eBay item number: 275484565273

Not mine. eBay item number: 275484565273 ...Hmm, ..A very interesting fan, do these types of fans have any known design/mechanical flaws? An EXPLODING component of any kind is kinda concerning... 😓 I have a "Stop fan" buried somewhere in my storage closet, When you touch the cage, the fan would abruptly cease spinning, even at high speed. It would make a sort of "clunk" sound upon stopping. Then I would hear a "click" sound and it would turn itself back on. Mine looks sanyo-like though... Jim Kovar
DC injection braking?
John McComas
18 hours ago, Jim Kovar said: DC injection braking? Yep! I tried a low internal resistance cap, amongst others, but I think some other component/s was damaged and limited the amount of DC switched into the stator. Without a schematic, I lost interest and sold it. It really exploded and blew parts and pieces all over and smoked like a tire fire!🥵
