Emerson 1820

Not me, but I did hold off. The seller has 99.1% feedback. Even 100% feedback, I wouldn't trust them with a big motor Emerson, I've gotten cracked cast iron from the latter, on much smaller and lighter pieces.

I'd say there's a fair bet someone will come forward in a month or so with a sob story about a broken base/blade

Cast iron can be rewelded and brass wings replaced. Would it really be a deal breaker if iron were cracked? Only area of concern might be a broken spider, which requires more skill.

This fan needs a (probably soldered) cage repair and new japan, anyway.

Guard is toast, has at least 4 breaks and 2 sections of wire missing. Solder wouldn't begin to fix it. It If you wanted to save it, that would be hours of labor. Probably just as much work to fab from scratch. Cast iron breaks are no one's cup of tea either... just more collateral damage to make this that much less of a deal

A new guard and possibly welding cast iron? That’s a minor issue and time required pales in comparison on a full restoration.

Many people here capable of working through much bigger issues.
