Recall that the old gear was made of phenolic resin which basically turns to mush after many years. Here is the old gear with the worn phenolic resin gear. And the new gear is below, which Louis generously scanned and had manufactured for my young friend Jack. This gear should never wear out, unlike the phenolic gear! Below is a video of the fan running with the restored gear. Many thanks to Louis who would not even agree to be compensated for shipping.
