Wire mesh Rembrandt shades are quite expensive.  Even for damaged ones.  I have several Rembrandt floor lamps (none with a fan, regrettably) one of which is setting next to a leather chair like yours.

If the toggle is still functional and spring loaded, spray WD-40 into the switch and work the toggle back and forth. Use compressed air to blow out the WD-40. Repeat the process. Let it sit for a while and then try the switch and see if it works. Internal contacts may be tarnished losing continuity.

however,  telling me how to do it does not actually qualify for the $50

Just make sure all of the contact cleaner has dried completely. Many of todays contact cleaners use alcohol as the solvent since the “good stuff” was banned. .

Check the label to be sure

So, if I would have suggested using CRC, would you have used WD-40? Lol. It looks like Patrick is screwed out of $50.00. But, Patrick now owns that nice Menominee Type 113 out of your neck of the woods. So, everybody is happy as a pig in mud. 🙂

Jim, your next fan assistance is gonna come with an invoice thanks to Russ 😁

Naw, I'm still happy over my Menominee find. Something odd is going on here though...I have more Menominee fans to be worked on versus Emersons! Got the 113, tab foot, and 3 derelict clams.

Damn right. And WD-40 rocks. I have sprayed WD-40 all over a non-functioning unrestored fan before I went to bed. When I woke up the next morning there it was totally restored, all the blade creases gone, and it ran like new. Fact Jack.

wd40_large.jpgWD-40 was invented in San Diego in 1953 as a rust-prevention solvent for Atlas missile outer skins. A chemist at the Rocket Chemical Company created a compound that would prevent rust and corrosion on the Atlas. It took him 40 attempts to get the water displacing formula right, but the end result became the formula for WD-40. Once the company learned that people were using the product at home, they began putting it into aerosol cans. It first appeared on store shelves in San Diego in 1958. By the following year, the company had nearly doubled in size, selling 45 cases a day to stores in the area. In 1961, the first truckload order was filled when employees worked overtime to produce additional concentrate to meet the disaster needs of victims of Gulf Coast hurricane Carla. WD-40 was used to recondition vehicles and equipment that had been damaged by the flooding. It made history again in 1964 when NASA used WD-40 on Friendship VII, in which astronaut John Glenn circled the Earth. In 1970, the Rocket Chemical Company was renamed WD-40 Company. In 1973, the Company went public, still with only one product. The company that started with three employees had grown into a company of more than 300, with annual sales of more than $300 million. Why this popularity and fierce loyalty? Former WD-40 Company CEO Gerald Schleif explained, "Unlike very few things in this world, the product actually delivers far beyond the user's expectations. That's where the emotional attachment comes in. People start believing they can't live without their WD-40."

So Jim screwed up. He shoulda soaked that janky armature in WD-40 versus sending it to White for a rebuilding 🤣

I would take the least derelict clam and help you recoup your lost prize money
