Bejon A. Boranian
...Been awhile, Here's a blade update: Banana Blade, 2nd attempt. Material used: refuse blade off some RV camper lamp thing I found. Basically, I cut, sand and "mill" the plastic to my desired shape... ...Result:
Bejon A. Boranian
Tools used: My (Broken) "xacto" knife blades, a DC motor, my master blade copy and every ounce of energy I can get out of a 9volt battery. Waste not, want not... ...These materials made me my own DIY mini lathe.
Bejon A. Boranian
...Here's more comparison PICS: This is currently my newest, smallest, most detailed banana blade. Â
Bejon A. Boranian
Shown running: (Quick video): The 9 volt used is at about 80% power. At 100% power the blade upgrades itself from box type to circulator. The blade can be used for both purposes. Bejon A. Boranian
...Now, Lakewood put a vent pattern on their blade... Sometimes, one will be open, all closed, or more rarely FULLY open vents. I opted for the latter: Â
Bejon A. Boranian
Banana Blade, Now vented: Had to be balanced... Carefully. 4-way brace inside hub x 10 vents = Balance not yet true Solution: shave/ cut at precise points, slight enlargement of key vents, mostly near the 4 support braces. Result: Â Â Â
Bejon A. Boranian
Test 1: "As a Box fan blade" Note: 9 volt battery used only at 70% power  VID_20240426_030608.3gp
Bejon A. Boranian
Test 2: "As a circulator blade" (9 volt at 70% ...) Significant power difference due to higher speed motor used. Drawback: Motor is a "gas hog" and will eat the battery at a faster rate. Perhaps the price of performance?? Full size Lakewood circulators do gobble up more energy...
