  1. I live 10 minutes from Waukee. It’s one of the fastest growing communities in Iowa. My mother in law graduated from Waukee in 1946 in a class of only 12 students. Now they just built a new school which divided the district into Waukee North which now competes with Waukee south. I bought one of these fans 20 years ago at a local auction. I’ve mentioned this fan around Waukee old timers every chance I get and no one has ever heard of it. That was a little odd because a lot of local old people know local history. It’s also odd to me that a farm town as small as Waukee was would produce something like this.

  2. So I won this auction for $1. It appears to be a swivel trunnion pancake missing the base and who knows what else. I am picking it up this Monday. Hopefully I can find the right base and the stator is intact. I know little about pancakes but for $1 plus a 90 minute drive each way I figure the parts alone are worth more than that.

  5. Good story John, back when auctions weren't nationwide and every person in the place wasn't looking items up on their phone. My wife and I visited a collector couple from an Indiana city recently. They really loved their town and had a remarkable collection. They knew every piece frontwards and backwards, when it was bought and where and how it fit locally. True collectors. I bought a couple of fans from them that were locally made.

  11. That means that black is common. Try swapping your white and black wires. Green looks to be correct.

  12. Yes sir that is my headwire and line wire. Fan was picked up by a very good friend that did all the work. Cage currently seen on the fan is just for photos. The fans original cage was missing except the rear ring. Some day I may find the correct cage for her.

  13. This may not be an easy one to fix "online." First, disconnect the three motor wires and check them with your ohm meter. You should have three readings, from green to black, from green to white, and from black to white. The lowest reading added to the medium reading should equal the highest reading. Also check from the motor frame to the motor wires. Post your results, please. The lowest reading pair will be your run winding and your medium reading pair will be your start winding. The wire not involved with the highest reading will be the common. The common will be connected to the wall plug The run will be connected to high and the start will be connected to the capacitor. Post as you go if this is not clear to you.🙂
