I could probably get it eventually but my airbrush skills are less artistic and more automotive finish based so it would be a time sink I'm not sure i should take on. Your best bet is to find a local airbrush artist or a really good hobby model painter. A lot of them are used to spraying and brushing on wood grain for camouflage vehicle replicas etc.

Jim done did good. 🙂  Harry J. Bosworth is dental related product. Bosworth it appears purchased wholesale from Hamilton Beach and put funky finishes on the fans and marketed them to the dental industry. Jim is a dentist, so it found a good home.

Being the fan is coming out of Crystal Falls, Michigan, the probability it was in the dentist office of Dr. Robert Hockings, or possibly his dentist father before him Alfred Hockings is very high. Dr. Robert Hockings started his practice in 1922.  His granddaughter has one just like Jim's restored by me.  Dr. Hockings lived and practiced dentistry in Crystal Falls, Michigan.

Don't you dare polish it out. I will die of a heart attack prematurely and haunt you. Those Bosworth examples are rare as hens' teeth.

With little doubt the Hocking's Crystal Falls dental office buzzed like a hornet's nest on warm summer days possibly in the teens and for sure in the 20s.  Robert Hockings was a well-respected dentist.  His fillings stayed in your mouth for years and years.

Why so little examples of these Bosworth HBs?

With the help of Russ iI was able to get the 1929 Harry Bosworth Book also .  Apparently the cost of an extraction has gone up since 192920220331_191700.thumb.jpg.7205db1612352c404ecd4104f9a7c8d8.jpg20220331_191711.thumb.jpg.49d9488f4dab4f4960c596d07429b419.jpg20220331_193623.thumb.jpg.974861462d06ed2d8c3073b39d0a3228.jpg

Jim, I would look into “Hydrographic dipping”.
With a little research I’m sure you could find someone to do it to almost a perfect match. I had it done to some motorcycle parts about 10 years ago and it came out great. I had  both aluminum and plastic parts coated to look like carbon fiber, I thought it came out great. Plus its removable, if I can find some pictures I’ll post them. Hope that helps.

What blows me away to the best of my knowledge is Crystal Falls, MI. has been the only location for 4 of these Dental Bosworth marketed Hamilton Beach fans to surface.

If anyone out there is aware of other examples elsewhere, please post. Hamilton Beach was in Racine and Bosworth in Chicago.

Jim, to answer your questions the Bosworth fan motors were marketed by BOSWORTH, thus no HB motor tag. Here posted below is the most legible Bosworth label on a HB fan I am aware of. There is a business 10 minutes from me that does graphic design.  I am sure there are many more. If you took this image and took the dimensions of your labels they could duplicate with their high tech machinery in vinyl.
