Jim Roadt
Need to replace head wire and one of those brush holder clamps. Unless I am able to do micro surgery with stator in place in need that stator out. Double nut technique snapped stator bolt off. Any suggestions to get stator out or how to do it with stator in place
Jim Roadt
Nevermind stator comes out with bolts in place. Not sure how to replace broken stator pole
Jim Roadt
Starting with the ugliest one first Sage green is closest match i could find to original. Free hand pinstripes with extra thin gold paint pen. Seems wrong to paint over shiny nickel but that is original to Dr Bosworths. Motor will be nickel as per original

Russ Huber
Housing is aluminum, don't plate it, a buffing wheel will polish up to chrome/nickel plate luster. Have someone remove the remaining fractured stator stud. If it has to be cut off, using a drill press and hole can be drilled and tapped, a new stud of correct length and threading can be put in place. I would carefully remove the windings from the stator first. You might want to heat up the windings with a hair dryer if they are stiff fit. Not plating anything...polishing motor ,painting all else original colors. Stud already removed and replaced right tool for the job

Jim Roadt
First attempt at wood grain ....original on right and left side of pic. Red oxide paint with raw umber dry brushed over it i think that will work
Jim Roadt
Anybody know why clear coat goes on like krinkle paint? Put on too early , too late, incompatible? First coat is a rustoleum primer red ( it was the only good base color match) . Raw umber is an oil paint in a tube and clear coat was rustoleum also. Any suggestions appreciated other than different color ...the red primer matches pretty good
Jim Roadt
Right side is red primer left is original11a
Patrick Ray
Think you have an incompatibility mis match. The clear appears to be doing that in a linear fashion in a similar pattern to the raw umber accent color.
Jim Roadt
Not sure what i think of my Bosworth logo attempt one is on clear decal one silver decal and possibly my favorite without decal at all. Attempted on sage green one they peel right off so not a big deal

Jim Roadt
Attention pin stripers.....for those that dont know what they are doing, such as myself, Try one free hand ( sage green one prior) Try another one free ( ivory one ) hand about 5 times and erase mistakes with acetone and call it "original pin stripe." And skip it completely on the last one

Jim Roadt
Thanks to Russ hooking me up and making it happen with Graphic designer I have a suitable Bosworth tag. Works great on ivory and sage colored ones, I will leave it off Woody If anymore Dr Bosworth fans pop up I have extras
