Collecting Battery Fans..

Bejon A. Boranian

Recommended Posts

...Yes, I still do. ๐Ÿ˜ต

Besides making & building mini fans,

I also collect battery operated of various types...๐Ÿ˜Ž

PICS show some I have on display for now...

But, I have close to 100 of 'em... Will make a detailed post on those when I have time.

The odd one is that clip-on mini box fan with adjustable louver grille.

A rather different brand:ย

NORTEX

THE Word For Cool

Nortex had their name on 12" oscillating fans & mini box fans as well.

Essex fans look just like Nortex fans, but more colorful.

This was actually a designer made fan, with roots to the 80's.

..But marketed under different brands such as SANRIO & breezeway.

...

Sold throughย BIG!LOTS.

...Box art shows yellow fan, I got a green one ๐Ÿค”

Hello kitty, early model battery clip fan.

1995 year.

Tilt up/down & swivel side to side (manually).

Surprisingly, it has the more uncommon Top-mount switch (On/Off).

Primary colors, still vivid after all the years...

...It even has an AC jack for plug-in use-!ย ย ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ’ก

PICS: (Shown running, just needed a dab of oil).

...Spray fan... Year unknown.

Perhaps very early 1990's?

...I have 8 of them... all Blue blade type.

...I'm still looking for the RED blade version-!! ๐Ÿ˜ต

Made in Taiwan.

This is my smoothest runner.

That blade... SANYO inspired??? ๐Ÿค”

The "cage" reminds me of those plastic Lakewood fans.

... One of my oscillating fans,ย

Japan, 1960s

Takes 2 "D" size batteries.

Made of pressed tin and cast metal.

Blades of plastic, metal hub.

Looks to be made after the NATIONAL fans sold at the time.

Marketed as the "Junior" fan.

...Pink version...!ย

(actually I've only seen these in green so far...)

I would like to build my own line of fans

like this one, perhaps with even more options

and a more "modern" high torque motor system.

...

"Brookstone"ย

Believe it or not, this exact fan was marketed as a NATIONAL

brand fan in Japan...

Some left over symbols / writing in the plastic casting:

Unknown what it says...

...most likely something about battery polarity... and the symbol

of a bicycle is meant to suggest a "Kickstand" (to prop up the fan.)

"the Fun Ships"

(...Note: I've never been on a cruise line, boat or ship...)

Seems like it'd be FUN...ย  They had fans after all. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Ž

Rebranded / exclusive from Squeeze Breeze (Misting Fan)

For use/ promoting Carnival cruise line sometime in the 1990s...

(Probably Summertime, as misting type fans use water or ice cold water).

Great idea Products, made in Taiwan.

(Same manufacturer as the "Breeze on a rope" line of fans.)

These are Clip fans

NOT A TOY... Despite its looks...

Squishy nose/snout or beak...

Can become hand held fan.

Midori fan #3

PICS show the Smokey translucent "grille / fan cage"

1 speed, 6 blades pump out good air.

Available colors back then:

Black w/Red blades type.

OR

White w/Grey blades type.

No other colors are known, I do NOT have the grey blade version...

...I have seen it though, but only in Japan...

OR

Battery use via batter pack or USB battery adaptor.

No brand, not marked.
