Essex fans look just like Nortex fans, but more colorful. This was actually a designer made fan, with roots to the 80's. ..But marketed under different brands such as SANRIO & breezeway. ... Surprisingly, it has the more uncommon Top-mount switch (On/Off). Some left over symbols / writing in the plastic casting: Unknown what it says... ...most likely something about battery polarity... and the symbol of a bicycle is meant to suggest a "Kickstand" (to prop up the fan.)
