David Welch
Ok, on this ceiling fan it has a speed coil. I'm assuming I could go to a wall controller and not need the coil? Also is there any way to reverse it?
Stan Adams
Hey David, finding the original type three speed snap switch will probably cost more than the fan, they are scarce. If you want it to look original, you can pick up a single speed snap switch, bypass the choke coil, & use a wall controller for speed control. The snap would just be off - on & are fairly available. Also remember these were made long before AC. Low speed on those is about the same as high on a modern fan. As far as reversible, on that model no. The rotor is cut so it pumps oil around the shaft. In reverse, you would soon have a dry motor shaft.
