Louis Luu Posted August 10, 2022 Share Posted August 10, 2022 I did pick up the casting but they were no good...did not pass my quality test. I will be drawing them in CAD and making them available in printed steel instead. Just got making the interior mold part. I need to be able to visualize the inside cavity so I can draw them. Also, the weak point on these is the neck area...breaks easily if you bend it. The new stainless steel will take care of this weak part. The bottom portion was pressed in with clay. I sprayed the interior with release mold prior to curing. I sped up the curing process by putting in the oven. Once it cools, I will twist/rotate to release the mold. Some side note, I had ordered them in stainless steel with nonmagnetic property...a curiosity of mine. I wanted to compare the other stainless steel which is magnetic. I also ordered a Diehl badge for Bobby Gaines in stainless steel with magnetic properties. To my surprise...the magnetic property is as strong as cast iron steel.
