Gilbert Pen Holder CAD

I did pick up the casting but they were no good...did not pass my quality test.  I will be drawing them in CAD and making them available in printed steel instead.  Just got making the interior mold part.  I need to be able to visualize the inside cavity so I can draw them.  Also, the weak point on these is the neck area...breaks easily if you bend it.  The new stainless steel will take care of this weak part.

The bottom portion was pressed in with clay.  I sprayed the interior with release mold prior to curing.  I sped up the curing process by putting in the oven.  Once it cools, I will twist/rotate to release the mold.  This will give me an accurate way to draw the interior which is nearly impossible to measure.

Hey Louis, I could use a set of those if U R going to make extras.  If so count me in for one pair.

I did pick up the casting....did not like them.  I will be making them available in CAD printed in stainless steel.  Will be available in about an hour.

Sold as a set in stainless steel.  Holes on the bottom have been placed but will need to be tapped.  Tapping tool is readily available. 6-32 thread.

I ordered  a set for David Cherry for lending me the pen holder to copy.  The fit is good.

Some side note, I had ordered them in stainless steel with nonmagnetic property...a curiosity of mine.  I wanted to compare the other stainless steel which is magnetic.  I also ordered a Diehl badge for Bobby Gaines in stainless steel with magnetic properties.  To my surprise...the magnetic property is as strong as cast iron steel.  I needed to find a suitable metal for winding motor for my DeMott Motor.  The DeMott Motor is a go now!
