Doug Wendel
I've been using CRC Lectra-Motive Electric Parts Cleaner to clean old motor stators for years. It works well. I do it in a large mixing bowl, and use a soft paint brush to reuse/scrub the stuff in the bowl until it's super brown. Then I blow out the stator, empty/clean the bowl, and start over. Rinse and repeat. it costs $12-13 a can or so, and I can easily use 2+ cans on a stator. It never gets as clear as I'd like before I run out/don't want to spend more money on chemicals. I'm looking for more economical, less toxic ideas. What do you suggest?
Mark Behrend
That is what I use although mineral spirits might be the cheaper alternative.
