Harrison Picard
Came across something special for only $10! I’ve never seen anything like it before. The blades, cage and struts are chrome and the paint appears to be the original ivory. This is a DC model at 115v. It has an enclosed motor which led me to believe it may be military? I would assume this was a special order. Any info would be greatly appreciated! The tag reads: FORM AF5 TYPE DV NO. K 67886 SPEC. RM 80639 CAT. is blank which I thought was interesting VOLTS 115 CYCLES DC I cleaned it up a bit. I removed all the dirt and buildup and the chrome came through. I also removed what I could of that crummy green paint and yellow primer(?) someone repainted it with. It really is a beautiful fan! I believe it’ll need a rectifier to get it running. Steve Stephens
An unusual fan for sure. Before you dig into the fan and spend much money get it running than consider the fact that the front and rear bearing carriers are made of POT METAL which may present a problem depending on what finish you want to put on the fan. I don't know if pot metal can be chromed or not. Good luck.
Harrison Picard
Unusual indeed! Yes I did notice the bearing carriers are pot metal. They are intact but cracking. I’d definitely like to get it running first. This is my first DC fan. As for a restoration, I am most likely going to leave it as is, but if I did restore it I’d keep it the original chrome and ivory.
Paul Carmody
Those motors probably get plenty warm lacking vent holes.

Harrison Picard
Does anyone have a similar model or know the year it was manufactured?
