1930s coolness - - note how fan body was "dipped" in green paint! Those badges are great designs!

Have ya'll seen those cheesy "Arctic Air" commercials airing now for "swamp coolers"??

Chris,

As to dating these fans, I can only guess 1930's because of their art deco design. Mine is a GE, and my current project. The 10" is almost identical. As far as serial numbers, I can only assume that the numbers on the top lip of the base are lot numbers.

Mike Kearn's:  It would be greatly appreciated if by chance you do have some hopefully dated advertisement images of the Funky F. A. Smith model, could you please share them?  I have never found Jack on them. Thanks!

Thank you, Steve.  Close enough. I was actually stupid enough to pass on a monster 16" F. A. Smith with a base like the oscillator model I posted above, cool plated gaurd and blade. If it would have been a 12" or less, I would have nabbed it. You win a few, and regret a lot

Found it. Mike Mirin had one on the old website. I could have sworn the guard on the one I saw was plated, but it was so long ago I may be wrong. Big heavy beast.
