Trying to preserve not restore this F1

Front has a lot of paint missing, no rust

Back in good shape

Base good

Removed silver paint from hub and blade while maintaining patina as best I could  ( mineral spirits)

Hub appears to have never been black.  Cleans right down to cast iron.20220920_190750.thumb.jpg.1d144af089c3d49f05370b2edc65912f.jpg20220920_191217.thumb.jpg.8c86cc37e4007dfa324cf6be095ed10f.jpg20220920_191223.thumb.jpg.d7ce5952c06f95aad415ea5fe209723a.jpg20220920_192837.thumb.jpg.df428295eb6e47c415769fb75ff12412.jpg20220920_191718.thumb.jpg.448eb3890b7cfd167c217e2509da57af.jpg20220921_132214.thumb.jpg.b1c5ded90ddccad8ffda4d147b619121.jpg20220921_132220.thumb.jpg.ea4b74e689d8fbd310cd031e105ee853.jpg

Jim, I am pretty sure your tripod is a 1901 model due to the aluminum tag that is just like the ones used on the PI-241.   The hub's center dome was used in 1900 and 1901 I think.  Those things are not easy to date though.
