Found a C&C motor from about 1892 at a recycling center and was wondering how those two wires were originally hooked up? What kind of brushes do I need? Also does anybody have literature about these motors or any information about them? Are these expensive motors?

The copper brushes on my fan outfit are said to be original and are as I see brushes on most other C&C motors.   One other image added below.
