Question if you dont mind.   This is a 2 speed toggle. Off in the middle with slow/fast to each side.   Do I put one headwire and 1 power wire together in the middle?

2 wire headwire.

The center terminal is the common for the outside separate circuit terminals. You're missing a screw on one side of the switch. Without it, you have a one speed. The internal contact plate pivots like a teeter tooter connecting the center common contact to one side or the other terminal to complete the circuit.

I have a 20s Westinghouse I purchased for parts. The speed coil is gone with a two speed switch.I have to lightly spin start with the blade. It runs great after that.I have run it for hours and it runs normal heat, amps in line with my complete one.I have not looked to see how it’s wired but it’s obvious it has been that way for many years. If your interested I can open it up and see.
