This is a Peerless Hat Polisher with the " ability" to become a fan

1.  Any idea what those ports on the back are for?  I see it is to oil the bearing, however, it is open all the way across ( see pic with nail in it )

I have no idea how oil would stay in there no wick present and would have no idea how it would get in there.  The holes on side have no indication of threads nor do they come off

2.  The stator is not coming out no matter how much I would like it to ( for sandbalsting and painting purposes )  Tried the pvc method casting very solid and was able to "giver" but to no avail

3.  What is the third wire on the stator for motor runs when using the 2 blue wires and there is power of some sort on the third

Any help appreciated

Thanks for making this so easy to post

I believe a round piece of felt should go where you have the nail. I think it would have originally had a cap on each end to keep the oil in. Since it's not threaded they were probably press in caps.

yep...was able to dig out a nice birds nest

That stator is not coming out.. No openings on back side of housing to help " push " it out. The only method left is pvc or the vise
