Trevor Andersen
I picked up this fan for $50 and have the booger green color mostly stripped down to metal now. Does anyone have painting suggestions? Something you've wanted to see or try? I don't want to do the traditional black. I've seen white ones and it looks pretty sharp but I think I'd like a different color. I was thinking of this brandywine/blood red over a metallic charcoal base. It is the left color sample. I already have a burgundy colored 19666 so perhaps I need to move away from reds.
Patrick Ray
How about a grey metallic. I've been around so many muscle cars with some sort of dark red metallic and I'm over it. Your 19666 looks great though. But I've always liked grey metallic. Can look classy but yet still a bit of a modern twist with the metallic.

Maybe I can match my cars color but do a metallic instead of pearl.

Anytime I see one think the color would match up well with brass Can you find me an example?

I think I can get close to it with this fastback green paint and doing a 1:1 mix with some silver. ⁸
Trevor Andersen
If I mixed that fastback 3:1 with aluminum metallic and added a drop per 4-5 ml of emerald green candy I bet it would be pretty close to that alumina jade. For the mossback I think its adding a light grey to the fastback equal to the added silver. As a 2:1:1. Guess ill waste some paint tomorrow for a good cause. Should be similar to the middle sample, maybe a touch darker. Edited October 11, 2022 by Trevor Andersen
Trevor Andersen
Tomorrow I finish the badge and turn the black into black chrome.
Trevor Andersen
Finished this up. I'll need to get some daylight shots tomorrow as the paint has some more dimension. I guess I'd call it a silver charcoal.
