Jay Buchholz Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Hi all, I have been putting this project off specifically because I knew I got myself in a jam when it was taken apart a few years ago. We were disassembling it too quickly and I never took photos which was a big mistake that I'll never make again. It's going to take a lot of trial and error to get this assembled and working before Christmas (this project is intended to be a gift for a family member). That said, once I get the new headwire soldered on I don't know how to figure out the order in which the three wires attach to the speed switch. I think there's a way to tell using an ohmmeter but I'm struggling. Could anyone point me in the right direction please? Thank you! Quote
Jay Buchholz Posted November 8, 2021 Author Posted November 8, 2021 Okay, I got startlingly lucky and when I removed the old electrical tape I still had the color coded wires. So I can match the wires that way. Whew! Quote
Jay Buchholz Posted November 8, 2021 Author Posted November 8, 2021 @Thomas Newcitythat is a perfect way to explain how to do it. Thank you!!! Quote
Patrick Ray Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 That's the master diagram I use when I hook up Emersons. 1 Quote
David Kilnapp Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 For headwire, I would suggest using Tony Clayton's three conductor headwire. Easy to work with and very supple. 1 Quote
Patrick Ray Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Tony's wire is amazing. Period. So easy to work with, looks great, and he will customize your wire if you want a certain color scheme or design. Can't beat it for the price. 1 Quote
