Diehl E16512 ideas

Looking for recommendations of being upside down/ underwater on common fan restorations. I have a Diehl E16512 and its missing the item pictured below and in really rough shape. I would like to bring it back to life but I'm already into it for $40, its missing the oscillator part and the badge and needs paint and wires etc... I think i can buy a whole fan in similar condition but with all the part on ebay for $75. (which I'm not doing).

Does anyone have the oscillator part in this picture?

Would you part-out common fans if they are missing key pieces?

I know its up to me if I want to spend more than a fan is worth or break even.

But I want to know from the community what your thoughts are about going in the hole for a fan restoration, either a little or a lot.

I like fans and they are cool but I'm getting tired of going in the hole on common fans. but I might do it again on this one. lol
