I have made all of my 3 mainly used carriers tell me that wooden crates alway inflict more damage to other items on the conveyors while in transit that they tend to receive on purpose the worst of handling by the carriers shipping them. They have suggested covering the wood crate with cardboard to hide the construction of the box to deter rough treatment by the carrier.
