Malcolm MacGregor
I second that motion! Rick does great work and in a timely manner too👍 He has done 3 fans for me. I think the finish gets shinier over time.

Tried pontypool and black dragon Pontypool was way better in my hands Best: original Japan 2nd place: Rick Powell 3rd place: Auto quality paint or powder coat...with Bill 4th place: Pontypool 5th rattle can 6th Black dragon Not meant to be a controversy just my experience....also best thru 3rd all look great
Jim Roadt
Just checked my notes from old forum and I liked black dragon more than I remember. Move black dragon to 5 and rattle can to 6. Also,Black dragon price is significantly less than pontypool and the place to buy it is within 1 mile of my house. Everyone coming to my house March 18 can pick up a gallon or two

Rick Powell
I rarely read the forums but happened to read this one while watching blizzard Elliot sitting in front of the fireplace in Kalamazoo. Thanks for the compliments from above. I began experimenting with creating the jappane formula and subsequently the stoving process about seven years ago. Since then I continually tweak the firmula and process and much to my surprise it does sometimes gets better. I recently developed what I feel is the best to date. Here’s a couple of photos of a Dayton base and Verity motor housing. The reflection is from a overhead flouresant light.
David Kilnapp
I've lost track of the number of fans that Rick has japanned for me - close to fifty or more at least. His work is without a doubt the best available and only original japanne can compete. And there is the additional benefit of knowing Rick who is a good guy and even better friend! John Landstrom
Darn that paint looks nice. I’d definitely consider using that in the Emerson wall mount Navy fan (1942) I’m working on. (If I ever get the fan blade off !) Is there there a tutorial video or step-by-step written instructions here or on the old site? You bake it huh? Toaster oven work or can I just stick it in with the lasagna before dinner? 🤔
