Roger Borg
I took a screenshot of this a while ago, but now that I finally have a reason to ask, wondering what these are called and where to source them. I have a curious kid in the house and don't necessarily want to fry him. Removable rubber insulators would give me some relief until I can take them off in a few years and return to original form. Thanks...
Edward Kowalke
Rubber boot, spark plug boot, electric terminal boot are 3 searches I would use if searching for them.
Bejon A. Boranian
Would shrink tube work as well? Saw some on feebay...
Roger Borg
Want something more finished looking than shrink wrap. Will start the search with spark plug boots. Thought it looked like those, only smaller. Thanks for the feedback...
Bill Dunlap
That looks like my fan. I found these, but had to go all the way to England for them. The Green Sparkplug Co. carries them. https://us.gsparkplug.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=low+tension+boot Apparently they only have them in red right now. David Kilnapp
Or you can get Bakelite covers for those terminals from Darryl Hudson. Edited November 16, 2021 by David Kilnapp
Patrick Ray
Not sure what the thread size is on those terminals, but McMaster has these:
Roger Borg
Hi all, great info, thanks. Bill, you're probably right, could certainly be one of yours. I take screenshots of everything so I can pull it back up when I need it, but that also removes the context. If I had a bigger screen, it would have had the poster's info on there, and could've just contacted directly. Maybe lesson learned. Anyway, not to hijack the thread, but your orbit fans are pretty darn cool...
Dave Hoatson
I simply spray the part with Sprayon clear insulating varnish. It insulates invisibly. Edited November 20, 2021 by Dave Hoatson

Russ Huber
Put "heat shrink end cap", "rubber end cap", "black delrin/acetal end cap" into your search engine and click on images.
