Menominee Electric & Mechanical Co. went down hard in 1900 with CEO Joseph Flesheim faced with bankruptcy he put a gun to his head at the age of 52 on February 22, 1900. The Menominee concern went into receivership in late March of 1900 to Arthur Stein of the Eureka Electric Company of Chicago. Eureka was in the phone and phone related equipment business established in I believe 1898. The goal intended was to relocate the business in Chicago. There was mention in late 1897 electrical trade of consideration of the Menominee concern being moved to Chicago.  In early May 1900 Menominee prominent Robert Emmet Jennings purchased the Menominee Electric & Mechanical company back from the Chicago receiver and shortly after in May. it was reestablished and incorporated as the Menominee Electric Manufacturing Co. also in the month of May 1900

The plant had been sitting idle between the time of the suicide of Joseph Flesheim in late February of 1900 until its new incorporation in early May of 1900. WHAT IS UNKNOWN IS WHAT FAN MOTORS IF ANY WERE MANUFACTURED BETWEEN THE NEW INCORPORATION IN MAY OF 1900 AND THE FAN MOTOR SEASON OF 1901??

When were these models pictured manufactured?? There are no images or mention of them I am aware of in 19th century electrical trade.

When you open the 1897 electrical trade book link focus on the center column and use the ENLARGE FEATURE. Go to the CHICAGO- notes. at the end of the note you will see it IS stated the Menominee Electric & Mechanical Co. WILL be moved to Chicago. My distinct impression is Tideman's attempt to market the elegant nickel plate cast Dolphin base support fan motor starting 1898 was a desperate attempt to bail out the sinking in debt Menominee Concern.
